Because cricket is mixed with politics. Political events are used to make decisions which team is to play and which not. No country will endorse this sport unless they know the sports is politics free. Do note China won 100 medals in 2008 olympics. That is much more than all the cricket countries combined. If they want they can develop a cricket team, but don't want to because of usual politics interference. Whereas India with over 1 billion too, only won 3 or 4 medals.

A good point.

I would also like to know why doesn't Canada play cricket as well because they are a Commonwealth country.

I would like a lot of other countries to come into the fold and play cricket such as America being the most powerful nation in the world and having the richest base for mayor sports. Argentina because they have embraced and play British sport's such as polo and soccer. Japan, Germany and France being two very powerful European sporting countries with strong rivalries between them and England. UAE the list goes on.

Because the game of cricket has not become a popular game in China. However, of late they have started showing interest and I am sure China will become a good cricket team in the years to come.

China doesn't play cricket. There is a big reason behind it and it is that cricket is not fully modified in China or among chinese. It is true because you can see that chinese are afronttunner in each except cricket.their performance has been really good in olympic games. Not only this ,they almost each time gets this championship ton their name.I think to explain why China did'nt play cricket.

Pretty sure cricket requires a great deal of reflexes thankyou very much... As for the question, there are cricket teams in China however it is not a sport that has taken off there... It is the same as sports such as baseball, soccer, basketball, etc.. in Australia... They are sports which are played here but they are not recognised as a national sport...

Primarily I suppose as they are not a former commonwealth country. The British interests in China were minimal and dispersed amongst many other former colonial powers. If however their regime thought it beneficial in a propaganda sense to become heavily involved and hence a "power" in the game then we would see an emergence from this most populace of nations. Meanwhile I think it would be great to see other countries adopt this sport to ensure its continued existence and expansion into a widely popular international sport. Therefore the promotion of the "quicker shorter" forms of the game should be heavily marketed. I advocate this, as speaking to central Europeans they regard cricket as obscure, inactive and boring. I think they have short attention spans!!! So we must wean them into the sport with the "exciting" versions.

China does not play cricket because they are almost similar face, we cannot imagine if one player comes out to play consecutive times if he is given out.
