Its just simple...

See.. whenever someone scans u r system using superscan or Angryipscanner.... they r sending ICMP ECHO REQUEST to u r computer...

And If u r computer give them response i.e ICMP ECHO REPLY.. thn attacker will come to know. tat u r online.... sooo u dont wannn thiss rt???

If u have firewall installed.. then Just block OUTGOING ICMP REQUESTs using firewall

ZONEALARM :

go to FIREWALL menu
go to Internet ZonE Security
block Outgoing ICMP

and thn go to Trusted zone securty..
and repete same..
If u do this.. then u r computer will not respond to Incoming ICMP requests.. from any system on internet...
