- Natural History Museum- - Dinosaurs and other interesting things, such as fossils, stuffed animals, etc
- A tour on the Thames - to see the Barrier and stop at Greenwich, to see the Cutty Sark (if they let you), the meridian. In this tour they tell very funny stories about London.
- A tour in Embankment and if you walk along the river you can see the London Tower, the Tower Bridge, Gherkin, visit the Tate Modern, London Aquarium, Big Ben and houses of Parliament, St. James Park (to have a picnic and see the ducks, swans, etc), London Eye (buy the tickets online, it will be cheaper, and you won't have to stand on the queue to buy them and then on the other queue to get in the London Eye.)
- Covent Garden, they always have interesting activities, magicians, shops, etc...
- British Museum, they usually have activities for kids.
- You can take them to the London Zoo in Regent Park, but this zoo is divided between London and Lutton, so you won't be able to see all animals there. But it is fun anyway.
- Regent Street has a famous store called Hamleys, which sells the coolest stuff for kids and they can play with the toys there.
There are so many things to do in London with children.

Yeah natural history museum is great and if you have time the science museum nearby. Otherwise London Zoo or a river trip.
Also if you have time and the weathers good take him/her for a walk on one of London's open spaces - Regents Park, Hampstead Heath, Clapham Common, Hyde Park

The Tate Museum has some great super slides at the moment - http://www.tate.org.uk/modern/exhibitions/carstenholler/
And then how about some story telling and baking - http://www.timeout.com/london/kids/events/410831/story-n-bake.html
And then find a nice park or something to have lunch and play on the swings, slides etc.

The Science Museum has a section aimed at just this age group. It is in the basement and is called the launch pad, there is interactive educational play and also water play, interesting talks about things like bubbles, which are also interactive and highly visual. Failing that there is always the Zoo.
