It just seems that way because you have access to a larger amount of people online. Logically that wouldn't make any sense anyway because that would mean that every weird person has an internet connection which is more than likely not true. Plus people do become a little less inhibited by the anonymity that the internet provides.

We live in a society where we rather hide behind a computer than come out clean, behind the computer no one can tell us anything and if we choose we can ignore rude remarks. Out in the real world we are exposed without the shield of our computers and our egos... we are weirdos one way or another...

I think it has to lean toward on-line.most of the real weirdos i seem to run into are very introverted or loners and like to view human lifeforms from a distance without physical contact.. unless you are their desired goal or lustful object then it may bring them to the open.

People typically free less inhibited online because they believe they are anonymous. They believe that they can't be identified so they feel freer to act out. Anonymity on the Internet is largely a myth.

I think there are more weirdos offline, since there are probably less weirdos who can afford computers.

The anonymity of being online will either get those who hide their hate to hate harder or those with issues to cause problems. But at least here you can now block out those who cause problems.
