.. you as if you were a best friend? I mean, your out for a meal with your mate and or friends and the last thing you want to deal with is someone who is serving you that wants to be palsy with you. Give me advise when i ask for it. I say be a true professional and you'll get a good 20% tip from me.

I think they are just trying too hard to get a good tip. I was out last night with my son and this one waitress who was at other tables was being so "fake" you could tell....I just think people should be themselves and if you aren't good working with people, don't do that kind of work!

I'm not sure it's that, but could be a individuals experience. Some places just cater to a cheap crowd. I always leave $5.00 for a $10.00 meal and try to have a nice conversation with my waitress (love waitresses) Like three weeks ago at I-Hop I wasn't sure about the menu so I told her I just wanted pancakes and bacon ( that would have been 4 pancakes and a side of bacon ) So she said no, you want the # whatever, 3 pancakes with bacon. So I said OK whatever you think. We ended up talking about how big the pancakes were and how I was glad I only got three. Before long she was kneeling in my booth opposite me talking and coming back a lot touching me, etc. She told me how disgusting some people are and how she hates when it's all you can eat and the gluttons show up. Told me about this one guy and how she hopes she never sees him again, promised her she would see me again. I asked her if they share tips and if so I'll just give it to her, . Mmmm, think I'm feeling hungry ; /

when their been to kissy give them a cold shoulder and don't smile, but when they begin to act professional them respond i nicely so they get the hint to stop kissing your butt and they'll sense how you like to be approached, if that don't work next time request someone else it's your time to enjoy yourself not deal with the server.
