90dB would be a little less than that of an Aircraft taking off (100 dB).iPods can reach 115 decibels or higher. Maybe you should try to change the sound insulating material on the muffler. They used to use glasswool to deaden the noise. When it is a free flow or hi flow muffler you are bound to have more noise because of the reduced silencing. I think you would just have to ask the shop where you bought it! :)

Most cars at 60 mph is approx. 75 db inside.

If you are standing on the outside next to a big
V-8 car, and they push the gas all the way to the floor. You will hear approx. 90 to 100 db.

Over 100 db, is bad for your hearing in the long run.

A jet engine is about 110db. Changing the muffler would quiet it down more than anything.
