Is "BIGFOOT" real? (Seriously)?

Question

Before you all answer, please hear me out on this one.
People say there are over 2,000 sightings a year. Think about that for a second. You mean to tell me that NOT A SINGLE one of the witnessess have been able to snag a logical photo. I have seen some pretty compelling things online, but nothing "shocking." Nothing that makes me quiver in my chair. You know?

Here is my point...
Out of all the bigfoot witnesses, not a single one of them have gone out on a limb and tried to touch it...snap a photo of it...throw somthing at it....heck, even kill it. You would think somebody, somewhere would get 50 guys togeather and go find it or somthing.

Bottom line:
All these sightings/witnesses and no "award winning" evidence. I can't help but to think that somebody would eventally go out and try to put an end to this delema..OR...ON ACCEDENT do somthing that proves it is real.

Catch my drift? I am very serious about this question. "Real" answers please...

So because noone has killed one it does not exist? are you aware that 20 smoe species have just been discovered? Someday someone will catch one but who can say when. bigfoot is very elusive

You are correct to be skeptical because based on your knowledge the evidence doesn't outweigh the lack of evidence and therefore you logically conclude it does not exist. I do believe if you knew what I knew, experienced what I experienced, and studied what I studied, you would have a totally different conclusion. I am a scientist that has been studying bigfoot off and on for over 30 years. I am convinced it is real. People don't get photographs very often becuase it is usually dark in the forest. Bigfoot are nocturnal but even when encountered in the day, it is difficult to get a good photo. As someone pointed out, if you see a bigfoot, your firtst thought is usually not to get a picture. There are numerous stories of people noting that they had a camera around their neck but didn't even think to snap a picture. The Patterson film is a film of a real bigfoot. It walks in a very inhuman way. Its feet are not human nor do I believe are they from a costume. If it is a costume, it is by far the greatest hoax ever created. I have visited the site of the filming on numerous occassion. On one night, my brother and I had an encounter there that I will never forget. It was not a bear or a human. Something very large was approaching us at night on two legs. It is not evidence for you but for me it was quite convincing. Anyway, I would encourage you to remain skeptical but remember to be skeptical of both sides and I assure you there is much to be learned about bigfoot.

My brother Jim in previous post is really understating the experience. Whatever it was sneaking up on us, obviously approached us because I was screaming in the middle of the night at being bitten by a grasshopper mouse. We could both hear this thing walking into our camp which was only a couple of miles from the famous film site, at most. Even a bear should not have been able to make the sounds of this thing crushing the dirt as it approached us very slowly. It was absolutely terrifying because it had no place to go but into our camp. It sounded like it weighed as much as a car the way the dirt was being crushed. I am conflicted because my mind doesn't want to accept it but rationally I can't imagine what else it could possibly have been.

I understand where you are coming from. I do believe that there is something out there. The lack of hard core proof is frustrating. But think of this, for hundreds of years people believed in an extremely large squid, but even with sightings, they lacked hard core proof; until recently. I believe it was in or around Japan they actually have underwater footage of a giant squid taking bait off a large hook. It's tentacle was hooked and it stayed on for about 4 hours until it severed it's own tentacle to escape. Within the past year, many new species of birds and other animals have been found in remote jungle areas. We are foolish to think we have all the answers and only serious, hard work and the willingness to search for the truth will bring about actual proof that cannot be disputed.

I know what you mean. but the problem could be, if someone goes after Bigfoot, then Bigfoot might attack back that person. but I would throw a stone to them.

when people usually see something very weird, they just look at it. I saw many times deers, rabbits and even a fox running aroung, but I never thought of to take a picture of it or even run after them.

in my opinion Bigfoot could be real. there are many rare species that are very hard to find. like someone found a very rare turtle, or that really scary frilled shark that some fisher caught. so, how many divers saw a frilled shark?

but Bigfoot isnt really fast, like I saw in some documentaries. just some rope and cowboy skills is enough to catch that thing.

I absolutely agree with you. I mean, the "best" Bigfoot evidence is one video shot in when, the late '60's to early 70's. Even in that one, they say Bigfoot walks too much like a human.

I think that unless someone coughs up some solid evidence, Bigfoot is just a prank or animal sounds heard by people camping who live in the city, and aren't accustomed to forest creature sounds

No. If you get a chance, watch the Penn & Teller BS show on this topic. They 'create' a bigfoot video and post it on-line - the reactions and offers they get are amazing.
