Human brain composed of 100-150 billions of neurons. Among this cerebellum uses 80% for Motor movements. From the rest we use 10-12% of it, the remaining ones are like silent synapses. It is believed that Albert Einstein used 14% of his brain capacity, and we all know he was a genious!!!
Brain use 25% of the total energy (brain uses only glucose for energy), and imagine if we use 90% of our brain how much energy (glucose) we have to provide??..I think this is an adaptation for reducing total use of brain, so we use only very little part of brain at a time hence reducing energy expenditure. Still we are capable of using all part of brain depending on the nature of signal processing.

We use all of it.
Consider that the brain uses about 25% of the energy we consume.
If we had 90% unused, as some people wrongly suggest, it would be an awful waste, don't you think? It would have shrunk to a less wasteful, more efficient, size hundreds of thousands of years ago.
Evolution by natural selection would have seen to that.

we use all of it.
different parts of the brain have different purposes.
if you mean how much of the brain is for personality, its the front of the cerebral hemisphere, so about 10 percent.
