It's hard to answer that question without knowing the plant, or the exact temp of your room is. high to me is 80's to somebody else it might be 70's or perhaps 90's.

As a general rule, Indoor plants when classified as such require temps of about 60-70 degrees with nominal humidity to be healthy, but as said, it depends on the plant.

Leaves droop for many reasons which involve not getting water into their stems and leaves. They have stiff little 'pores' under the leaves which when all is well are open (imagine your mouth in the shape of a big "O") making hte leaves stand out. This is where they 'sweat' or 'exhale' water and oxyen into the air from. If the temps are too high or they sense they are drying out, they will close those pores to conserve water (imagine your mouth in the shape of a little "o"). This now makes the leaves less stiff and they droop.

Since plants take up water from their roots, a droopy plant could mean that it's not taking up water for several possible reasons. The most common is dry soil. THe second most common is overly wet soil.

Check the soil with your finger. If it's moist and your plant is a type that doesn't need much water, it's fine in the root department. If it's soaking wet, chances are the roots have rotted and of course it can't take up water (imagine your mouth plugged up) and is dying. If the soil is dry, it needs more water. If the room temperature is higher than around 85 to 90 degrees, I'd say yes it's too hot for many house plants. Room temperature (70 deg F) is usually fine.

Plants usually need to be checked once a week for watering needs. A plant that is in a pot smaller than 8" diam will need to be watered more offen like twice a week or every other day. A plant that is sitting in a sunny window will need more water than one in a dark corner because sunlight is the energy they use to drink the water and make their food from the soil and air. Not all plants like a sunny window by the way.

The important thing to remember is that it's not how much you water but whether or not the plant needs water. Always check the soil first before you water it. If it's moist at the surface skip it until next time. If it's bone dry, give it a good drink and wait until next week. Adjust how much you give until you find the soil is moist about 3 inches below the surface in a smaller pot and 4-5 " in a large floor pot.

Also read up on the type of plant to learn what conditions it likes.
