Provide for those with the most need! Deny those that have the most greed! Withdraw all military forces worldwide! Make them work with the US Army Engineers building this nations infrastructure! Release all prisoners from GITMO and all other GITMOs! Provide incentives to improve this nation instead of demeaning others! Stop the incessant political back stabbing and hand holding that just promotes more of the same! Give the populace more choices not diminishing them!

DISCLAIMER: The following is only a fictional scenario. The author fully supports the US Constitution and peaceful change through our current political system.

I would implement the following:

1. A flat income tax of 12%, with exemptions for primary residences, savings and capital gains, education and medical savings accounts, pensions and estates.

2. A comprehensive national health insurance program, offering a variety of plans for cost savings and flexibility.

3. Make English the official language for federal govt and courts. Allow states to decide second languages (NM recognizes English and Spanish)

4. Drill for oil and gas in Alaska, in the Gulf of Mexico and off the California coast. Achieve energy independence.

5. Require all cars and SUVs to be hybrid or super efficient. Establish single gas formula to facilitate distributioin nationwide and lower prices at the pump.

6. Expand smaller safer atomic plants, building them underground adjacent to underground waste storage sites.

7. Fortify the northern and southern borders.

8. Enact a legal work program for undocumented persons, allow access to social services in exchange for paying taxes and attending govt funded English and financial management courses.

9. Privatize social security, set up individual retirement accounts that are inheritable and tax-free.

10. Upgrade our highways, railways, ports and airports if needed.

11. Restore all civil rights to felons who have served their sentences.

12. Limit Representatives to 4 terms. and Senators to 3 terms.

13. Expand science, engineering, arts, education funding.

14. Expand small family farms, organic farms.
and other things when I think of them. A more conservative answer to Cacuatl's list.

1. I would first get rid of the DEA and the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

2. I would allow states to decide such policies as legal drinking age, drug legalization/decriminalization and medical marijuana policy.

3. I would get rid of the USA PATRIOT ACT and Homeland Security.

4. I would redefine the War on Terror so that we respond to specific attacks within our borders or against our citizens and territory rather than endless pursuit of the countless terrorists operating in the world.

5. I would reform our immigration laws to allow short term guest workers ("undocumented workers")and put limits on the number of guest workers companies can hire. I would require equal wages for guest workers and permanent workers.

6. I would raise the national minimum wage to $9.00 an hour.

7. I would cut taxes on the poor and middle class and increase taxes on the rich.

8. I would break up monopolies and otherwise seek to limit the influence of giant corporations on our government and society.

9. I would nationalize power companies and ween the nation off of power generated from coal and oil fired power plants. I would increase the use of renewable energy.

10. I would require car companies to produce zero emmissions vehicles -- at least 50% of their production.

11. I would increase the fees paid by corporations for the use of public land to at least 10% of gross profits.

12. I would sign the Kyoto Accords.

13. I would give the governors more control over National Guard units in their states during emergencies.

14. I would fund public transportation throughout the country. I would create a high speed transcontinental passenger railroad, refurbish our freight railroad system, and create tax incentives to encourage shipping by rail instead of by diesel trucks.

15. I would create universal health care system.

16. I would create tax incentives to encourage people to move out of the suburbs and back to the cities. I would encourage businesses to move to the inner cities.

17. I would make it illegal for corporations to own more than one TV or radio station or more than two newspapers.

18. The FCC should exist only to regulate radio and TV station ownership, I would eliminate fines for obscenity.

19. I would appoint pro-choice justices to the Supreme Court.

20. I would allow states to make up their own regulations on gay marriage as long as their regulations are in compliance with the concept of equal protection under the law.

NO big deal.In a functional democracy,a change of Government ,even midway, would be a smooth transition.Any sane person with a reasonable respect for his holy **** wouldn't even think of it.Kind of governance?USA has the best form of it except for a bad headed politician here and there.

I don't believe there is a perfect government, and there is corruptness in every form of government. I think a direct democracy would work, like what the Greeks did. Today, we use a representative democracy and the leaders we choose are not always the best, so why doesn't everyone be a leader?

I'd ask every single Mexican in, and take every American to Mexico. I'd develop Mexico and completely shut the border down.
