I have stopped talking to my best friend because of his girlfriend. Did I do the right thing?

I have always liked him even scince 5th grade. He was in a bad relationship with this girl and I told him if they got back together I'd never speak to him again. They got bacj together. He said he doesnt want someone to get in the way of our relationship. I wont talk to him. ON his myspace page it says all he needs is her. Why do I feel so heart broken? How do I get out of it?

You are hating on your friend because he's back with this girl and you wish it were you. I totally understand, but you can't be that way. Let the man be with the other girl. Who knows he may break up again. Show him that it doesn't effect you even though it does. Most likely since it's a bad relationship, they're gonna break up again for good. But if you stand by his side and continue talking to him throughout their relationship, most likely he'll feel like you been there for him no matter what. So continue talking to him, it may be worth it in the long run

This sounds like my brother and his girlfriend!!! He loves her and only wants her and he lost his friends to it. I almost did the same thing for my friend Heather back in high school, but I learned that if you stick by them, let them know you'll always be there, even if you don't talk to him all the time, he can appreciate you when their relationship isn't intense. In fact, he probably doesn't know it, but he NEEDS you. Once they get more bored with each other, even if it's a good relationship, he will need someone else to hang out with...and there you are right next to him!!!

It's not too late to go to him, tell him you were mistaken and ask to resume being friends. A true friend stands by you even if you make a mistake-this goes for his bad relationship as well as his being willing to forgive you.

hey the best thing to do is to not get on the way of the relationship, if he feels happy with her then let it be, its going to suck if his heart gets broken, but if it happens you will be the friend he will go to. i always tell my friends if a woman ever gets between us, she is just trying to destroy the friendship, so its not worth it, not cool and very inmature.
