if each person did, than the money would be worth a lot less. that's called inflation. $100 now would probably be worth the equivalent of 1 cent. so that would probably be the only difference. if the money was worth what it is now, anarchy might break out. some sort of feudalism would occur. here's how I see it going down. there would be people hungry for power, so they would steal other peoples money. the people with the most money and/or power would bride people with land, or money in exchange for their loyalty. that's my educated guess of what would occur.

I don't doubt that people would hoard it to themselves, but I would definetely donate it to a charity or to help feed the hungry and homeless. I might keep a little though...

If everyone in the US had $5,000,000, then yes, we all could use it. There'd be no poverty or hunger, so I don't see how this question is relevant.
