one way to check if baby is crying because of being colic-- try calming her by making her lay on support of stomach. keep masaging her back, means spine bones, if this soothes her pain it means she is crying because of colic pain. this trick is also useful when you do not have medicine handy, while infant is having colic pain as it calms her and termporary relieves her from pain.

You don't really ... you just start calling it that after it goes on and on and you're about to fall apart and finally you realize you can't do anything about it!

According to what I've been told, "colic" is said to be with a tensed abdomen, screaming inconsolably for 2+ (usually evening) hours. And it can start at 7 weeks, or whenev. Basically any crying for no known cause that you can't fix is called colic, though! Be sure you are burping her well - it can be harder than it seems, I thought so anyway, sometimes it took me 10min of jouncing, patting, and thumping to get a burp.

Almost all babies suck down their bottle fast - it's normal because sucking's a reflex, and they pretty much can't stop as long as the fluid is coming... just make sure she isn't swallowing air, and if it seems like a lot at once, make her take burp breaks. You might try using a nipple with a smaller hole to slow her down if you think that's the problem, too. Keep her upright for a bit after feeding to minimize possible reflux. You might consider changing formula, too, if you are using formula, and if nothing else helps.

If you decide it must be colic, try not to fret too much. It really, truly won't affect her in the future. It's just one of those things you gotta go through. And it won't necessarily last for weeks and weeks.

Colic is gas. Nothing more. When you have gas it hurts right? Same for her. Now she doesn't get colic because she eats fast she gets gas from getting air. So slow her down a bit. And if she does get cranked up and start to yowl well then do my little trick that I used when my wife was clueless.

Sit in the rocker. Place baby on your lap face down. rock gently and rub their back. the movement causes the gas to move right out and the rubbing soothes baby and you. Beware though it can get stinky after a time!

It is normally colic if you cannot get them to calm down. She doesnt necissarily have to be crying ALL day, just crying to where nothing is calming her down. Like shes not crying because she is hungry, she is not crying because she is tired, and if picking her up and soothing her normally doesnt help then she may be a bit on the colic side.

Colic usually happens in the first three months of life and occurs mostly at night. The abdomen is distented, tender to touch, shiny and the baby keeps on crying.

i dont have kids, im trying to get preg but my sisters children had colic.. if your child has it. he/she will fight their sleep and all they will do is cry and want hardly eat.. all they want to do is scream and cry. you can go to a pharmacy or wall mart and buy newborn colic medicine and try it if it doesnt stop then take them to its doctor. but my mother made onion tea for my neice and nephew when they were just a month old when they had it..and you give it to them and it will soothe them and it goes away its a old home rimidie and it works! i will find out how you do it and will get back to you 2morrow but if ur aby has those symptoms then morethen likely it has it

try giving her water in a bottle... or just hold her. pacifiers help some...... white noise does good. stand w/ her next to the faucet... or try turning on the vacuum cleaner... i would recommend putting the vacuum cleaner in one room, and you and the baby in another. a good car ride usually does the trick... i had music playing in my baby's room. i picked out songs i thought were soothing........ and nice melody's. maybe you should speak w/ your pediatrician... about starting your infant on cereal, if she is eating soo fast. also, you should keep your baby upright for 20 minutes after feeding, and always burp your baby. I'm sure you already do... Johnson's and Johnson's has this bedtime bath that worked wonders for my son. and it smells really good. good luck... it won't last forever... there are happy days to be had. best of luck to you and your new baby!
