whats the original way or most known way, and whats the name of the knot?

I am not sure that there really was an original method for tying a tie, because individuals are all different, and may have come up with their own way of doing it before ties really caught on. Today there are several knots that are commonly used: the four-in-hand; the half-Windsor, and the full-Windsor. The first two are probably easier to tie, but the full-Windsor is the most aesthetically pleasing. The full-Windsor was named after the late Duke of Windsor, who popularized the knot, but objected to it being given his name. The half-Windsor is merely a variation on it. It is alleged that the duke actually learned how to tie the knot from his father, King George V. To find out more, just google four-in-hand knot, half-Windsor knot and full-Windsor knot.
