Yeah, she should be perfectly safe. She will probably be super uncomfortable...but its ok to travel at 6 months. Have her consult her doctor before just to be sure, because if she has had any complications or anything the doctor may not want her to. But if she has had a good pregnancy so far, and everything is ok, then she should be just fine to travel. Just be prepared for all of the potty breaks and the complaining, because its uncomfortable to sit in a car normally at all pregnant...and especially going that far. Drive safe!

has she had any braxton hicks contractions yet? if so, then expect to stop alot more than you usually would for her to get out and stretch her legs and use the restroom, and get comfortable.
Right now, I am 8 months pregnant, I went to the beach last month, it was about a 7 1/2 hour drive (would have been about a 6 hour drive without all the stops... My legs started hurting and tingling, but after I got out and walked around a bit I was fine, I believe we stopped at every rest area we past, and stopped to eat twice, but other than that, it wasn't anything that would actually put me at any risk, I even went on a trip with my first pregnancy in the later months, and everything was fine.
As far as her doctor hasn't said she is having a high risk pregnancy or anything, I believe she will be fine

My Husband and I have had to drive a 28hr straight through trip for a funeral in the family and I was 7 months pregnant. The only thing we should have done was I should have got out of the car to walk around more often. I ended up with very very swollen ankles and feet but other wise it was fine. And all was safe for Baby and Mum.

Is this a move or a visit?

Your good as long as the baby is in good health, Have a record of her files on hand of the pregnancy incase a stop to the ER is needed so they can view over those.

Lots and lots of stops, potty breaks, PLEANTY of water and leg room, make sure ot have snacks. Expect the24 hour drive to be longer for stops.

My husband an I drove from kansas to Texas by main roads(never take back road cause you may need to get to a phone or to a gas staion fo remergancy or break)
It took 12-14 hours. Adding in a stop every hour and gas every 3-4 hours. I was in early 2nd trimester. After the baby is born, you need to do pleanty of planning cause when i moved to texas while hubby is deployed, my father in law helped move me and what was suppose to be a short cut of 9 hour drive took over14+ hours cause the baby. HAving to pull over and change was hard enough and stoppig to feed.
I was alone in the car.

If her doctor says it is OK. I would then ask her if she feels up to it. Pregnancy is not a pleasant experience and a long drive can cause her to feel alot of discomfort.
If she says she wants to go...... go .....otherwise...... you will be dealing with the mother bear..lol.
Take plenty of pillows and allow her the opportunity to stretch out and walk while stopping at each rest stop. Don't forget healthy snacks and plenty of fluids. Even though it will increase the frequency of urinating.. traveling can be dehydrating and that would be bad for both of your loved ones.
It is easier to take a long drive being pregnant than taking a fussy baby.

yes its okay! I am that far along and I have approval from the Doctor even. He said that you have to stop and she has to walk around every so often to keep the blood flowing (to avoid blood clots). But pretty much he said that pregnant women who are not having a complicated pregnancy are fine to travel, the only worry is when you get closer to the due date they don't want you traveling around just for the fact that you might be far from a hospital, but the travel itself doesn't hurt. Make sure she is comfortable!

If your wife isn't having any problems with her pregnancy and doesn't have any high risk involved then it would be fine. However, you should stop for 10-15 minutes every hour or two and have her to walk around, stretch her legs to avoid getting any clots. If in doubt always check with your/her Dr. first. BE SURE TO CONTACT THE DOCTOR IF SHE IS HIGH RISK OR HAS A PROBLEM PREGNANCY.

I traveled with each of my 3 kids until I was uncomfortable (meaning too much pressure on the bladder, back, etc). Her body will tell her when she needs to get out and stretch and get her legs moving.

*A pillow and plenty of stretching room while in car is highly advisable

It might not be a good idea for your wife as it might be bad for her and her baby to travel for such a long time. Though it would be lots of stopovers here and there. It's for her safety and of course, your baby that is due in about three months time.
Don't take the risk
