Why is sulphur trioxide a lewis acid? pls explain with respect to its molecular structure. thnks:)?

SO3 reacts with water to produce H2SO4. The SO3 first picks up a H+ to become SO2OH+. Then the resulting OH- attacks the anion, forming a S-OH bond.
