He is so freaking annoying does anyone else mute the tv when he starts talking? As long as he has played basketball it seems like he would know what he is talking about but he sounds like a complete idiot!! he trys to tell everybody their wrong when he sounds like a jacka.s.s!!

Bill Walton is one of the most knowledgeable basketball minds alive today. -- Played for John Wooden at UCLA -- Managed to stay in the NBA well after his body had let him down. As a big man he's probably entitled to be biased towards the bigger guys. Who else runs from baseline to baseline nearly every possession of the game on both offense and defense. It's called "constructive criticism". It something that is lost on many people today. You may know it by it's new name "hating". "Hating" is now one of those nebulous terms like "keeping it real". It is overused. There is a difference between complaining and identifying issues. No one can play a perfect game but you can always try.

walton is an acquired taste. he plays favorites (like most other announcers) but sometimes u gotta listen to what he says and just get a laugh. that probably wont change ur view of him being the most annoying announcer 'in the history of western civilization' lol
i'd have to to go with bulls announcer johnny'red' kerr. i've never been a bulls fan (even in the jordan days) and found it rather irritating when he would scream 'yeah,yeah,yeah' when mj would hit a big shot. i know all announcers are fans as well...but at least try to hide ur homer-isms sometimes.

The most annoying announcers on TV typically are the female ones. That is going to sound incredibly sexist and chauvinistic, I'm sure, but I know I'm not the only one that gets annoyed by their style.

Leave Big Red alone, you don't even know that he is a legend. he was a champ in college and in the pro's. Bill knows the game. his son luke was good at arizona, and he will be fine with the lakers. Stop hating on people that are significant to other peoples lives.

i actually like bill walton..i like his voice and he says the most random and funny things.. lol
..and there arent really any female announcer/commentators in the nba.. they're mostly the sideline reporters.. but i like michelle tafoya

I will have to go with Joe Buck.. Just listen to one of his Yankee Vs RedSox commentaries and you will swear this guy was blowing Steibrenner
