it was like 2 or 3 days ago when russia said it would aim nuclear weapons at european allies if the united states put a missle defense in some countries and now hes cool with it even suggests another country azbejistan or whatever whats your take?

Well Putin is on his last term. He will retire soon. So is Bush. I don't think neither of them want to go out as couple of idiots who started 2nd Cold War. They probably want to leave decent legacy behind I'm sure. Putin has nothing to benefit from ratcheting up the tension between the US and Russia.
I think that harsh Putin comment was just a knee jerk reaction from old Russia.

I think Putin is a little bit sensitive since he is behaving badly and receiving criticism from the West and from within. But I think Putin and the Russian people were reassured that the missiles are not targeting Russia, but are protecting the West from a different threat. Putin's bad behavior is not a big threat to the West anyway; it is more harmful to his own people.

It's just a temporary lull in bilateral relations. The 'cold war" between the two countries will continue because Russia is an authoritarian state and it needs an external enemy to inflame nationalism and patriotism.

Putin knows regardless of what he say's or does that the defense system was going up anyway he doesnt even care about it. The whole thing was just a little monkey beating his chest in front of the big monkey.
