try to get a 7900 with 512mb ram.

if not get an 8800, even the 8300's get great performance.

I would skip the 7000 series and get an 8800 or a 8600. A 320 MB 8800 GTS can be found for 270-320 dollars an a 8600 GTS with 256 MB runs around 200 dollars. In a year or two, most games will be using DirectX10, so there is little use for buying a DX9 card that will have to be replaced in a year.

The 7900GS would be the fastest and would let you play at high quality settings. 7600GS would be the slowest, especially at high quality game settings.
