how much time should be allowed to punch 5 digits and 2 operators into a calculator? (less than it took to write the question).
Actually one doesn't need a calculator or even pen and paper, ten hours will get you 550 miles, so less than ten can't be the answer, and it will take another hour to get from 550 to 605 so the answer is 11
But are there small children in the car? can the car make the trip on one tank of fuel? in reality the answer is probably "none of the above"

Average speed is the total distance divided by the total time.

The actual speed may vary from time to time. Even it can be zero for some time.

Total time = total distance / average speed.

Total time = 605/55 = 11 hours.
