Split pot.

Each player uses the best five cards available to them, and only those cards.

so the active hand for both players is

8, 8, A, K, 10

The guy who said player 2 wins is wrong.

It is a split pot.

You always pick the best five cards to make a hand. You can only play a kicker if it beats the cards on the board. You can never use a sixth card as a kicker.

So player 1 has:

8 8 A K T

Player 2 has:

8 8 A K T

In order for the kicker to play the board would have to be something like:

8 A K 5 3

Then the best hand would be:

8 8 A K 6, and player 2 would win since player 1 could not beat the board with his 2.

It is a split pot, you play the best 5 cards out of the 7, so you both have to play your pair of 8's and the A-K-10, your kickers in your hands do not play here.

this would be a split pot. You only look at the best 5 cards for each player. in this case they are the same so the pot is divided equally.

Best hand is a pair of eights, A, K, 10.

Both players have it and it's a split.

Definitely split pot. Both players have the same best hand.

And don't let anybody tell you that you have to cut for high card or roll dice or armwrestle to break ties.
