I'd like to have a dollar for every time this question is asked.
NO, all gasoline is the same. For a time I drove a gasoline tank truck, and every brands trucks loaded from the same storage tanks. Even the additives are the same, just called by different names.
The only actual difference is the color of dye each brand uses, and how effective their advertising campaigns are at brainwashing their customers into believing that their car runs better on that brand. (Some people actually do believe brand "X" makes their car run better. How gullible!)
I buy the cheapest gas I can find and my car doesn't know the difference.

Good question. Hard to say, I really haven't noticed much difference in the gas myself. Try a few tank fulls of one brand and mark your mileage. Then try another brand for a few tankfulls to see if the mileage varies. Good luck.

Yes there are. The big 3 that are considered good quality gas are 76, Chevron, and Shell. These are higher quality because each one has additives that helps the engine burn cleaner (Chevron with Techron, Shell with ProPower etc.) Arco is said to be terrible for your car unless you have an E85 car because they have more ethanol in their gas, which is why it is a few cents cheaper to buy than the big 3. I hope this helps!

gasoline is gasoline---only difference would be the additives that are put in the gasoline and the octain rating.

absolutely, but for me its not the answer you are looking for. i use higher octane gas in my older chainsaws that are losing compression. it extends their life considerably. low grade mgas in my saws just causes them to continue their com pression loss until they are garbage.
