What is a good cell phone, not too expensive, would you recommend for kids?

If you were entering junior high, what kind of a cell phone would be good? And I kind of want it to look good to. Thanks!

There are all kinds of phones what really matters is what you are interested in., do you want to be able to block calls for certain hours, do you want gps on the phone, do you want your child to text pics 100 times a day?
Teenagers like the cool phones like razr and chocolate, which I have and don't recommend, it has been repaired 2 times this year for a faulty battery.

I would recommend a standard phone until you can determine how responsible the kid can be with a phone.

Yes try virgin mobile, they have several different plans all prepaid, you can pay by the minute or month, My son is on the 34.99 a month plan and gets 400 anytime minutes and 1000 nights and weekends, it works great and the phones are really reasonable, I have used virgin mobile for about 3 years and will not use anyone else. they also have a plan for 6.99 a month and all calls 10cents a minute, but check out the website it will answer all your questions. Also there is no roaming or long distance charges.You might also check into tracfone, they are more expensive by the minute, but another option.

yeah, nokia is good. how about ngage, it is built for gaming though it doesn't have a camera. it depends on what you want on a phone. and nokia gives out it's variety t people
