Yes, you can sue. Save all of the evidence. You should also report them to your local Health Department and the Division of Consumer Affairs.

Generally there is no action for selling expired food, at least not criminally, maybe civil but having a criminal charge helps.. You would need to get an expert who can say that more probably than not the sickness was caused by the expired food. Also you would have to show the store knew or should have known they were expired that long, and that you did not assume any of the risk or act negligently in not looking at the expiration date. If that happens you can get back med expenses etc. If you win.
call a lawyer.

If you can prove that you recently bought the expried food at that store, then you have a law suit case, but that could drag on for years, and meanwhile other customers are at risk.
Your duty to society is much larger than anything you might collect in a law suit. You need to go to the public health authorities immediately with whatever evidence you have, so that there can be an investigation, and perhaps have the store shut down & out of business, and the owners and management into jail.

Probably for your medical bills and maybe a certain amount for the grocery money you would have spent on the expired food. But your going to have to have proof to win. Good Luck!!

You certainly can sue--get a lawyer, he'll know what to do about this situation. I'm sorry for you and your family.
