A need is something you will no longer be able to survive without. For example, if you don't eat food (a need) you will die.
A want is something that you can do without and still survive. For example, when you eat food (a need) you want a plate (a want). If the food wasn't there, you would die, but if the plate isn't there but the food is, you can survive if you eat the food.

WANT is personal reasons, like i want this video game but you really don't need it, you most likely want a car, computer, and etc.
NEED is food, clothes, house, all the things that help you survive in this world, YOU NEED FOOD to live, YOU NEED Clothes so you won't be cold, you need a house to stay somewhere
understand?

Want is something that you desire. For instance, I want to go to the concert. I want to learn a new dance. Want--is not a necessity.
Need is something that is necessary for survival. You need to eat. You need to drink water.

i really really WANT this gorgues pair of shoes i think they'll really cheer me up.
but
i really really NEED a new house to rent with my boyf so i can put it on my court speech that i have a suitable home for my daughter
is that a good enough difference
also what people think they want isnt always what they need, they could get their every wish, and then be upset cos they have nothing more to aim for, life will be pointless.
