I agree with you. Any president would be taking grieve right now. The vast majority of Congress & Senate approved the war in Iraq - every president would have supported it. The President's policy on war harshest critics voted to go to war including Edwards & Clinton. When it did not end in the 3 months the US citizens had allotted, public opinion turned really ugly.
I disagree with his support of the immigraton bill - to me illegal means illegal. Send them home. The secret committee & the President are looking for an easy fix. There is not one.
The housing, economy, interest rates, & unemployment are in great shape. President Bush has done great things for this country but sometimes in his need to protect to protect it has caused him problems.
I am grateful for his protection & his love of the USA.

Both Bush Presidents inherited strong economies and were tasked with simply not screwing things up. This Bush was a lame duck walking in the door. There's nothing wrong with that. If nothing's wrong, just keep it that way.
9/11 was a bad day. Twice as many Americans died on 9/11 than on 9/10. I, for one, don't exaggerate the relevance of that day. The FBI and CIA have thwarted over 600 terrorist attacks in the past 50 years. They messed up on 9/11. If they don't mess up again for the next 50 years I'll be satisfied with that.
Calling the last 6 years one of the hardest times in American history is stunning. As a teenager in the 70s, I would sometimes stare at planes flying overhead and wonder if it was a Soviet bomber. Inflation was 18%. Unemployment was high, and good jobs were scarce. The Vietnam Era was tough, and the Republican's Great Depression was a disaster for America.
Bush is now comparing Iraq to the Korean War, stating that we may need to be there for 50 years to keep the peace. Are you really o.k. with that?

As per usual... you got the super intelligent answers from the libs... let's see... er uh... why don't you go fight his war? uhhh... this war is fer oil.... uh.... we can't win... Harry Reid said so... Bush brought this here on himself... er uh... Bush is dumb.... why are we arresting so many terrorists here in the states... uh... Bush stole the election....
Wow! Such thinkers they are? Why is it so hard for the libs to back our country... and why they feel that everyone must rush down to the recruitment office is a cop out excuse that basically says... please... someone else protect my spineless butt.... and do any of these people look at the price of gas? c'mon... even your kooky leaders have stopped beating that drum... (have they not told you what to think next?) wah wah wah... we can't win!! wah wah... it's OK... let the real men and women handle the tough stuff... And of course Bush planned 9/11 and suddenly made all Al Queda hate us... (what was next...) oh yes.. Bush is dumb... yes.. and for 7 years the dem's have been trying everything they can to destroy him.. I wonder who the uninyelligent people are? Geez... we must be doing something right if we are arrestinf terrorists here in the States before they put their plan into action... and the people that help and alert our officials, they aren't spineless weazles that aren't affraid to be unpoliticaly correct... AND FOR THE LOVE THAT IS ALL GOOD IN THIS EARTH... GET OVER 2000.... GORE LOST... and thank God or we would be in deep poop right now if he had actually won...
So now that I am done ranting... you are right... It takes someone with courage to adress a problem and STICK WITH IT until it's done... even if there are uneducated people who try and tear him down. Now... if he could just go that extra 10% and handle illegals properly....

Bush was elected during a period of time for which there is no precedent.
He cannot look back and see what Clinton did, what Carter did, what Reagan did.
So, he ends up having to do what he thinks is right.
Many times, the right thing is not the popular thing. What's happening now, is politicians are saying what they would have done, what Bush should have done.
Talk is cheap, they don;t have to make these decisions, so when Bush makes a decision which appears to be wrong, everybody jumps on him, to score "political points."
Sometimes it is very difficult to do the right thing and not worry about whether or not it's the popular thing.

And God bless former President Bush.

I like the responses I see these libs throw out..."why aren't you in Iraq fighting for him?". Such haters, I swear! We can just give the answer of, "We are here fighting the war with the domestic terrorists; the liberals. The ones that want to defund the war front in Iraq. The ones that voted for the war then turn around and say that Bush is the worst president ever." Why do we have to be so divided in protecting our country and the rest of the world?

I full heartedly agree with you. Thank you for saying it. I see Bush as a very humble, very noble and very patriotic man.
It's very sad that his entire presidency has been overshadowed by 9/11. You are right that it has not been his fault.
Although this time in our history has been unprecedented, I do believe it could have been avoided had previous presidents taken the threat of terrorism seriously. I so badly wish they had. If there is fault to be levied, it belongs to previous presidents who swept too much under the rug and conveniently chose to ignore it.
My heart hurts for the decisions Bush has had to make. I'm sure his does, also.
I think he could have and would have done much greater things in his presidency had he not been controlled by 9/11 from the start. I truly believe this would have been a 'golden' period in our history, otherwise.

Um... if the U.S. is so safe because all of the terrorists are over seas, why are we arresting so many terrorists in the U.S.? If the patriot act is so good, why did we have to rely on one man reporting a fishy video (bless his soul) to the FBI instead of catching on to these people via unwarranted spying? The only thing keeping this country safe is the work of those in the intelligence agencies. It is the same thing that has kept this country safe for decades and it will be the same thing that keeps this country safe for decades to come. The war in Iraq was based on lies and false evidence that the administration still spouts as absolute truth showing the are either far removed from reality or willing to say anything to get what they want.

You seem like an intelligent, rational person.
The haters only want to divide us with their rhetoric and blame Bush for all that is wrong in the world. Instead they should be thankful for the things Bush has given us, like no new terrorists attacks, a vigorous economy, historically low unemployment, etc.
