Immigration and protecting our borders. Your thoughts?

We are not protecting or borders very well when we have alot of illegal immigrants in our country but that are not the ones that have attacked us it is the legal citizens from other countries that we have to beware about...dont you think for the most part. (ex. 9-11 they were legal to be here or they would of never gotten on those plans)

I mean yeah they commit crimes just like everyone else but we as american citizens seem to focus all of our attention on them instead of everybody..

It should be allowed because they help the economy anyways. They do the jobs that Americans are too lazy to do and for about half the price. If an American picked strawberries it would be about $6 compared to the $3 we pay for now. Immigrates are trying to start a new life and America always says they are open to that type of thing so they should show it. America is pretty much a country of immigrants anyways someone has a heritage from some other country and we adopted this land so we should help others who are trying to do the same.

Economic migration, which is really what we are dealing with here is a problem and a solution for all countries that seek to expand their influence and power beyond their borders. Our system is a patchwork that allows the owners to keep wages low and us divided against ourselves.
We do need reform. If you are here illegally you should not be able to get legal housing, assistance of anykind or a job that does not put the employer at risk of losing way more than could be gained from employing illegals. This creates a small sub class of essentially nothing but criminals.
The economic impact of migration is slowly eroding our economy and lifestyle....credit is expensive due to defaulted loans to illegals, health care costs include the cost of their "free" care and we have whole neighborhoods where it is more closely reminiscent to an underdeveloped country wherin english is useless.
As liberal as I am I see economic migration as a threat to all of us...migrants are like strikebreakers....and should be treated as such. The honest hard working ones can go back and build their country and not destroy ours. Quotas work.
The EU has a pretty good handle on illegal immigration and they too want to further limit it.

I think we definitely should protect our borders and make sure people get in legally. I am not against making it easier for immigrants to get in just make sure everyone does it legally. We do not NEED immigrants to fill some of our labor jobs. Those jobs will always be filled by the general public and places with very little illegal immigrants do not have problems with the jobs that some people say we NEED immigrants for. I can't believe how many people think immigrants fill jobs that Americans won't do. It might be true that they would do it for lower wages than most Americans would.

You know what? I actually like Mexicans, and like them being here. There is too much hate. Nobody is sure where to direct it, so when the government says illegals gotta go, then everyone focuses their attention on the illegals.. In all reality though, I think it would suck, because they have worked so hard just to be here.. And I have to ask everyone else, have they watched a day without a Mexican? It might clear a few things up, not to sound or be racist, but I think others should take into consideration what our lives would be like if a complete race of people were eliminated from our lives.

We need to curb the flow of illegals and set up a way to keep them out illegally. Those who apply through proper channels will be more apt to follow our laws and benefit our society. Those that "hop the fence" are the ones that scare me. It sounds harsh, but I'd shoot people that crossed. Get the word out that America isn't going to be infected anymore.

And to "Just Me": I can't believe you are calling Americans lazy. This is the greatest nation on Earth. That's why so many people want to come here. If I needed to clean rooms, pick fruit, or dig ditches to feed my family I would. The fact is those people that work here illegally are taking the jobs from Americans because they will do the same job for less money. The employers that hire these people are no better. In fact, they are worse. They encourage they illegals to keep coming in waves. And the illegals don't pay taxes or spend their money here. They send it back to where they came from. Yet another drain on our economy. If you don't like America, why don't you get out? I'd love to see you go.

Legal immigration. A wall or heavily gaurded. If anything to be less strict, construct a moderately easy way to get legalized into the country, but legal nonetheless.

Im a democrat and I dont see how people can disagree that immigration has to be legal.

Yes why do so many find it so urgent to use the term protect and our ? 1 these words are not ours so i don't like them second protect from who what ? Terrorist if that is the case i would like to see my tax dollars go toward not hunting terrorist but stopping the ones already here exp. the kkk and skin heads local gangs and dirty police! Lastly why is it that so many are so interested in "protecting our" boarders but only from certain people? An exp. being Mexicans and Haitians yet don't really seem to mind the fact that millions are being spent at this moment to lure and support Russian people to and in the US?

i say bring the troops home and put them on the boards and for the poor Mexicans need to be shipped back i know of a lot of people who would do the "lazy jobs" that the wonderful Mexicans do. they run our schools systems, welfare, heath care, and economy in the ground some are hard workers but most want the dam near free life the U.S. is stupid enough to give. you try to get a loan for a new house if you are a Mexican born you get homegrown don't same with the school loans. they are nothing but leeches of the american way.

The US people do have enemies now, who want to kill us. Of course the average Mexican person who crosses the border for economic reasons is not a terror threat; but the fact is, we do need to control the borders now because there are those who want to kill us. Too bad the terrorists spoiled it for everybody.
