Very strange, especially as she dropped her appeal against the sentence, then all of a sudden she is released. I think daddies money did some talking.

It's not strange but expected, money is involved here ain't it! How shallow is this woman, just before she started her half jail sentance she saif that she hoped that this would help other people not to break the law as she did. She sounded insincere then, and and what does this teach people? Make a mockery of your country's judicial system by paying the officials off!
Personally I hope the judge throws her back in jail, no frills, no checking out who her cell mate would be, no "special needs" part and ensure that she does her full sentance (scrap the half deal as clearly she has not displayed good behaviour) in a regular cell!

It's strange...it is not fair. She is just getting off since she is Paris Hilton. Had it been any of us normal poor folk, we would have had to do the time. It is not fair and I don't care who likes her and how many children adore this girl and look up to her as a role model, it sucks. It is really a shame that this is how society works right now. People getting off because of their popularity in the media and in the entertainment business...totally ridiculous, and then they talk about morals and right and wrong but they allow these things to happen.

i dont really think its strange as per say. i guess what they say is true - have money, use it.
what would have happened if it was all worse than what it was??? she might have to spend one more nite there? thats really not what id call fair.
i think everyone should b treated the same no matter what ur status is.
i thought that with her actually going in early and everything on her own i actually thought a bit more of her as a person and not as a star who just wants everything. now i take that back.

Be assured that the Sheriff who authorized her release has committed political suicide. He has blatantly disregarded a judges order, and you can bet there will be repercussions for this action. As for "Paris" herself...I don't have enough time to dwell on her problems...one of which is being a rich, spoiled brat!!!

Not only is it strange but a slap in the face to the American public, had it been you or me we'd most certainly would have gotten more than 45 days and we would have served at least three quarters of it..guess it pays to be rich and famous for sex tapes

Not surprised. It was all a publicity stunt, not punishment! Do you seriously think that a spolit little girl whose Daddy owns a lot of hotels, would actually go to a nasty place with nasty, horrible people? NO! I'm sorry, I think I've slipped into "spoilt brat" mode!
