i was in a quad accident and blacked out when i fell so i dont know how i hit the floor but when i woke up i had a big bruise on my hip a few days later i noticed a bump,,and the color had gone a way,,its been two weeks and the color of the area is completely bac to normal but there is still bump...a very noticable one if you touch it...its actually a little higher than my hip and more towards my groin...could this be anything serious? or is it just the swelling STILL?

ps
it doesnt really hurt when i move around..maybe not a hernia?

My husband hit an area right by his hip.Sometime later he felt a pea-sized bump in the same area. Hadn;t ever noticed it before. The doctor said it was just a lipoma (a non-cancerous tumor). He said not to worry about it. Over the next several years it started growing very rapidly and made his hip hurt. The Doctor finally wanted it removed. It was bigger than a large grapefruit, when they finally took it out. It was completely harmless, but left a large indentation and scar. He says now, if he could go back, he would've insisted on it being removed when it was so small. The Doc was sure it stemmed from the injury he had all those years ago. So get the Doc to check it out, and if it's a lipoma, insist they remove it now. Yours sure sounds the same! Best of luck.

You should get it checked out. It could be a blood blister or something of that nature. You could have ripped open something inside and it could very well be a hernia or something similar.

I'd get it checked out and fast. If it's your bowels and something should burst all that stuff can contaminate your abdominal cavity (there's a term for it can't remember, but kind of like if your appendix burst) it can be serious and cause sepsis.

So do get it checked out. You did do some damage obviously if you have a lump there that was not there before.

It sounds like an untreated soft tissue injury. The best course of advise would be to go and get it checked out so that it doesn't cause any problems in the future. Old injuries reall suck when you get older. Take it from me!!

I had something like that on my shin.Mine was not serious.I had an altrasound and I think the other one was an MRI.I think that you need to go to the doctor. No two people are alike,no two falls are alike.GOOD LUCK! I'll pray for you.
