short answer = yes

long answer = newer notebooks and notebook power bricks have mechanisms to prevent any ill effects of a surge. but it couldnt hurt to be safe!

It never hurts to unplug it. also if you have cable, or a telephone line connected it's probably a good idea to unplug them also. I had a friend that had his computer fried when he left the telephone hooked up. (lightning hit the telephone line and fried it, along with all of his phones.)

If it's an electrical storm, I always unplug my expensive stuff!

Always have a surge protector. Keeping it unplugged is a good idea. My friend had his desktop fried by a surge while he was out. Deader than a dead president.

It is a good idea. Lightning can hit a pole and burn your laptop if it is plugged, while it won't be able to do it if it is unplugged.
