Has anyone's baby had red birth marks on face or other parts of body? If yes, how long did it take to go away?

I am not worried about them. She has normal birth marks and they are not growing. SOme small ones have even faded away. I just wanted to find out how long does it take them ro go away completely.
Doc says it usually takes a year.

All 4 of my children have stork bites. My oldest is 8 and hers is still visible at the base of her neck. My twins are 3 and they each have visible redness - my son on his hand and my daughter on her neck and lower back. My youngest is 4 months and he too has them at the base of his neck.
The medical term for a stork bite is nevus simplex. A stork bite is also called a salmon patch. It's due to a stretching (dilation) of certain blood vessels. It may become darker when the child cries or room temperature changes. It may fade when you push on it.
Most stork bites on the face eventually go away completely in about 18 months. Stork bites on the back of the neck usually do not go away.

Take your child to the Doctor immediately.
It could be a simple strawberry birthmark or worse. The only way to tell is a taking the baby to the doctor. My nephew just had two removed that were growing like horns out of his head.
My son just had the stork bite on the back of his neck that remained flat and fades.

My daughter had a red birthmark right between her eyes and down a bit on one side. The birthmark was flat and could turn purple when she got really mad. A dr. sent her to a plastic surgeon at age1 or a couple months older, her medical card wouldn't pay for it to be removed so I had no choice but to wait and watch! It is almost all gone at present(very faint) and has been since she hit 2 or a couple months older! Just make sure this does not grow and if you think there is a change see her dr. I recommend having her dr. measure this at every check-up and write the size in her file!

Honestly they can take up to five years to go away. Most of them do, some fade to very small birth marks, but some never go away.

Salmon patches or strawberry hemangioma are what we call red birth marks. Thin hemangioma usually fades fast as the infant is growing while the the thicker ones remains for years.

My son had 2 "stork bites" at birth. One has gone away but he still has the other on on the back of his neck. He's 8 months old now.

I once babysit this little boy. He got a big red birth mark on his face. I don't think it will go away. Again maybe the advance of plastic surgery might do it.

My gorgeous daughter also has the "stork bites" on the back of her neck... she is almost 6 months old. Her pediatrician said they will fade with time.. not sure how much time. Its so cute, when she gets upset they get a little redder!
