You all know, of course, that there are consequences to blocking and being blocked. YA will take "appropriate" action. Clean, no blood on their hands.
We did it to ourselves.

I didn't; I wondered what constituted stalking, since the violation notices are occasionally strangely issued. I've noticed the thumbs down i get on innocuous questions, especially after I point out research on infant-toddler/mother separation. They make me chuckle.

If people are posting scary threats, well, that's stalking and that's wrong and illegal. If people are posting vulgar answers, that's inappropriate in an open forum. But, if people are defined as trolls those who voice unpopular, unconventional, or inconvenient opinions, then the marketplace of ideas becomes like a soviet toilet paper store.

I understand that some people have stalkers here, never understood the concept (some people really need to get a life) and never have had a problem. But for those of you that do, it must be very good news.

It is time that Yahoo put people on notice that Stalking on Yahoo is a federal and state crime and that Yahoo will report to authorities those who they suspect are stalking.

It takes a very sick mind to chase women around on this site and try to intimidate them. It also makes you wonder what that kind of person is doing in real life, who is he intimidating, harassing and stalking.

I would have preferred that Yahoo call it the Block Stalker feature since that is what it is really about.

Nice to see you here today.

It should make a major difference in my thumbs up and thumbs down votes on my answers.

I've had many literally tag my profile so they can see where I've been, and regardless of the forum, simply because they disagree with my political beliefs and or just don't like me, they have been giving multiple thumbs down every where. Even when I answer questions in places like technology and computers when I'm trying to help somebody.

ADD-
See? I think I got followed here. How benign an answer did I just give and I still get a thumbs down?

I don't know if I would ever use the feature....probably not.

I got a couple of nasty insulting emails yesterday by someone of the name Doug C, from politics. I didn't respond. I thought it was just as well to ignore him.

I doubt if I'll use it. I can understand blocking legitimate stalkers, but not insulting, ignorant, or annoying people. I just wish that there is some way to stop people from anonymously reporting people who are not violating community guidelines.

Seeing the work of the clone stalker that started it all, I surprised that the wizards at yahoo didn't pick up on this guy before.

It's disturbing to realize that it could happen to you especially after his boost that you're next.

A thousand pound weight lifted off you? Wow!

(I know I shouldn't... but I just can't resist!)

That means you weigh in at what... a slim three-fifty now?

Okay, that was WORTH the violation notice!

I, too, am relieved. I am going to start blocking people (in a few days) who directly insult other users, regardless of political persuasion. They have nothing to add to the debate, so I have no time for them. Other criteria will follow...

I don't care about this feature. It is YA > you ask , we answer and vise versa, that's the way this game works , so I think this feature is useless, if we practice freedom of speech ...
