Primates, are smarter they are just one down stream in evolution then us they can make tools, learn , whereas dolphins are know for communication and social setup only scientists are working on them they have created subject of dolphin interesting whereas you can know about primates intelligence.
All clinical trials are done one primates before they been used for testing on animal.

be confident those who are living on land find it more difficult living then water living though dolphins are secondarily adapted to water but this is a kind of back evolution.

I'd go with dauphins. they (from what I've seen) seen to be smarter but both display an high intelligence. mokeys, apes, and others can learn sign language and have tought it to their babies!. but dolphins learn faster and can get more out of something. now heres one (e-mail me)

on a diffrent note dolphins are said to have some sort of power but this is not yet known. monkeys are nown for making tools and dalphins ddo this too but not as much because they don't need to.

Ya know, my immediate answer to this is primates.

But why?..........Because they look and act more like myself. How can you compare a mammal's intelligence when one live on land and the other in the seas.

Actually, I have seen the mother's instinct in a whale to protect her young. Killer Whales (Orcas) live in family pods all their lives. Grandparents, parents, and children all live together. Yes Chimpanzees do this too, but they also war upon other "clans"......does this make them more like us? Yes, but is that actually more intelligent, I don't think so..........

For this reason, I would say the whales and dolphins are more intelligent.........Just look into their eyes!!!!!!!!

It is sad that we still hunt these intelligent creatures for no apparent reason!!!!!

That depends on whether the primate is a gibbon or a human.

I believe they are both highly intelligent in their own ways. But when it comes to intelligence, the ways we measure it, I believe primates, especially apes, to be superior.
