ALL men want something when they do ANYTHING for us....Thats just how it is:) If he is anything like mine than he probaly wants to go out :)

maybe he really enjoys doing the laundry but doesn't want to get into his 'wife's' domain - or he thinks its too feminine/domestic to do laundry. Therefore, answer: he wants to do the laundry everytime there is laundry to do. Solution: you stop doing the laundry - say you don't have time, or something. Then it will seem like he 'has' to do the laundry, and so he will - and he'll love it (it's what he always wanted but never had the guts to ask for).
EDIT: I hate it when people say their husbands 'help' with the housework. They should be 'sharing' (equally) the housework - not 'helping'! Who makes the need for housework (ie. the mess)? Both the guys and their wives, equally! So my real opinion - don't give what he wants to him. You don't owe him anything at all (he owes you!). Make him 'help out' more with the housework. Let him know it should be an equal task.

Hmmm...if my husband helped me with laundry, I'd know something was up!! He wouldn't even even do his underwear, he'd put on old or go au natural!

maybe he just wanted to be nice... my husband doesn't always help me with housework... but when he does I appreciate it instead of trying to analyze it...
