I have a 2yr old GE gas dryer. Just recently it started this rhythmic (very loud and high pitch) squeak. I remove the lint after every use, works well and is very clean otherwise. Make it stop!!! Any suggestions?

Well, all you can do is tighten all the screws and nuts in sight, to see if any loose panel is causing the squeak. If not, it might be the drum is hitting the main cabinet slightly on each revolution, if the bearings are worn some. Or could be a slipping belt. Squeaks can be hard to track down sometimes! Go with the easy stuff, and move the dryer so you can get to screws and bolts behind it. tighten any you can reach. If that fails to stop the squeak, then it may be a belt or worn bearing. Sorry, not much else but trial and error to check this!

Rythmic squeak is usually the idler pully. I have changed a couple - you have to take the drum out. It's doable yourself, but hard.

you need a new belt call a plumber or ask for assistance from the store where you purchased the machine. Lowes might know too.
