I'm still upset that Goofy's not a planet

nay.

We already went through this in the 1850's.

We will go through it again in about 50 years, when they will discover the first of what I call (for now) Oort planets.

---

As for people being comfortable:

The Sun and the Moon were planets for two thousand years and everyone was confortable with that. Until Kepler and Galileo came along that is.

The Sun and the Moon lost their status as planets, and the Earth lost its status as the centre of the Universe and became a mere planet. Let me tell you, lots of people were not comfortable with that. No wonder they arrested Galileo. (By the way, the four 'moons' of Jupiter he found were also called planets for a while -- a very short while).

Do you see Brown going around asking for the Sun to be brought back as a planet?

Pluto is a planet. Just because all the sudden it's "too small" to be a planet although it has been one for, gosh, forever doesn't mean anything. I will teach my children that Pluto is a planet but no one else knows that, that way they will know the solar system as it really is.

aye..poor little "plutos" never catch a break.....Pluto the dog must be outshined by goofy and sleep in a doghouse..and the poor ex-planet must be downgraded to "dwarf" status.. :( tis technically still a "planet" if you look at it in a certain way..but doesn't get to dance with the big kids. :(

No, Pluto is not a planet. It just doesn't qualify in enough catergories. it doesn't even orbit the sun normal and it is a large rock in the Kuiper Belt.

I could not care less.

When it was a planet, did you even call? Send a card once in a while? No. Well it's too late to fix it up now. He's moved on.
