When I was in tech school (air force) several years back, the base took us on a rock climbing trip. I wore a tank top that had a low back and burnt my shoulders and back so badly that it blistered and peeled. But that wasn't so bad. A week later, after the burn started to peel, and my new skin was underneath (and still raw), I went rafting wearing nothing but my sports bra. I got a burn on my back AGAIN! Over the new raw skin. I was in pain for weeks and scared that I had scarred myself permamently. Luckily for me though, I didn't have any scarring, but that was the one and only time of stupidity.

Aloe Vera lotion? 1% hydrocortisone cream to the affected area. Read more below. You're skin is basically "burnt" off, thus it needs to grow new skin pigments/skin cells. I honestly believe that all you can do is wait. The lotions, etc. only pretend to cure the symptoms, but your bodies' cells need to take care of the rest. So sleep! However, the resource below said to call the doctor. Not sure if it's that extreme. Sickness should be caused by an infection/virus before..... unless you live in an apartment and you went swimming, then I would call the FDA or whatever they call pool inspection people. The pool might not be as clean as they say, which happened to my friends complex two years ago. Three people were terribly sick. Good luck!

When I was ten I fell asleep on an air mattress, floating on a lake in the middle of a sunny, hot day in summer. My back must have peeled for two or three weeks.

I am really fair skinned, and even WITH sunblock I end up burning. I had a burn so bad on my shoulders that they bubbled up and turned purple. It was pretty gross looking, but I have never been in so much pain!!

I never get sunburn... Does it hurt or does it feel like you touched a oven?
