Character is more important than personality. A personality without character is less valued than the character alone. When personality is added to character the personality symbolises a height.

Definitely character. Personality is not good/bad really - you can be an introvert, enjoy being with just one friend at a time, and like peace (for instance) or an extrovert who has many friends and acquaintances and loves being with lots of people most of the time. Neither personality is better than the other - both are good in their own way, just different.

Character is in part what you make of your personality. You might enjoy being by yourself - but you still have choices - and you might choose not to get to know anyone else, ever, and have no friends, and be unfriendly - that's your (not so great) choice. So if you let parts of your personality go to the extreme (stay in your 'safety/comfort zone' all the time, take no risks, don't develop who you are) that is your character choice, and the result will be your character.

For instance, nobody has a 'lazy' personality or a selfish personality or a 'give up on everything I start' personality. Those are their choices, and their character - they have a 'lazy' character etc.

Personality is something you're born with, more or less (and nurture too). Character is choice - what you choose to value and put your effort and time into - the things that are important to you - good/bad decisions you make. All of those work together to become a "character" that people know you as - eg. a reliable person, or an untrustworthy person, or an unhelpful person, or a generous person.

Personality influences the type of character you will have - the types of character that come most 'naturally' to you (eg. someone with a caring personality will find it easy to have a 'helpful' character. Someone who has a personality that likes to control things would find it easy to have either a "controls everyone" character or a "good leader" character).

Character is more important. Good and strong character itself will build the personality. Without strong character personality cannot be built.

Personality. The character of a person might attract u to them, but their personality is what keeps u into them. For example, character wise, my friend is a nice person, and he's very helpful and has initiative. But personality wise, he is slightly introverted, but once he gets to know u, he's a barrel of fun. He likes parties, but he's responsible. He tells jokes, and he's a trustworthy person. See, my parents liked his character, what the community said about him; so I got to hang with him. But I liked his personality, particularly what my folks wouldn't approve of. He's a great guy, but parents do have standards of their own for their kids, and being nice is just the tip of the iceberg. So to me, he's all in one...capable of fooling parents, and also being a cool guy to chill with.

well, you can't have one without the other! your personality comprises your character. Your character just refers to the set of qualities you have and your personality refers to your temperament which contain your characteristics, now your characteristics are shaped by your environment and your personality, so BOTH are important.
