If Drew Brees gets hurt, there goes the season because Jamie Martin is not the answer. I don't know why the saints didn't draft a QB in the 4th or 5th round. They could have drafted Troy Smith or even Florida QB Chris Leak.

because Smith is too small for the NFL and Leak is not ready yet. They know the chance but Brees has no previous injuries

It's not too late if the Saints want to get a veteran backup QB. IIRC, Jay Fiedler, Vinny Testaverde and Drew Bledsoe are still available to fill in in a pinch. So are Aaron Brooks and Todd Bouman, but I doubt the Saints want to bring them back for another tour of duty. Would any of the names I just mentioned inspire more confidence than Jamie Martin? You make the call.

I doubt Chris Leak or Troy Smith will be counted upon by the teams that drafted them to be the #2 QB this season, so neither one probably would have ousted Martin from #2 on the depth chart this season.

Getting a good backup QB is tricky. If they're any good, they'd want to compete for a starting job & there's no competing with Brees.

Well, they did give away Marc Bulger and Jake Delhomme while wasting time with Aaron Brooks. Add Drew Brees, and that makes 3 pro bowl QBs that Saints have had in the past decade. How many more could you ask for?

that's genuine that the Colts peeked on the final time in 2006, and confronted a truly susceptible NFC opponent to win all of it. yet sure by technique of and massive Manning, and the gang, has a tendency to break down interior the playoffs in the event that they do no longer play interior the dome, or maybe then they're going to cave in some. He nonetheless ought to grow to be a great playoff quarterback sometime however, do no longer count extensive style him out yet.

Well lets pray that Brees doesnt get hurt. They did get that quaterback from Pitt though. Jamie Martin might not be good but if the o-line protects him like they protect Brees then he will be allright. If he starts playing like crap then just hand it off to Deuce and Reggie.

its verry hard to get a decent back up qb in the salary cap era and i think the saints had more pressing need s than to worry about drafting one

They had Adrian Mcpherson last season, and he's got potential and could develop into a promising back up. He played in the Arena league which helped his mechanics and decision making.

I think if that happens they'll get a free agent cause they dont have many options. they dont have enough room in the slary cap anyway because of last seasons rebilding season so they dont have much leftover money
