Why not pick something interesting you see along the way and chain it into a fun fictional story in whatever style you like to write. Some examples might be an old dilapidated house alongside the road that you see...write about who first built it, the generations that moved through it, and how it got to it's present state of condemnation. Or maybe you'll see a family that's interesting to you; make up the stories of their lives and how they came together. I mean, honestly, driving is like seeing a whole new pot of story ideas. Just keep your mind open, as well as your eyes, while on the road. Happy writing!

Try this: Start with something that happens in public -- a robbery, a murder, a wedding, a wake, something like that. Then choose four different characters, and tell the story four times over each having a different impression of what happened and and a different point of view. That might entertain you. Good luck!
