Mother is by birth & wife is by choice, you cannot choose the former & can’t get later by birth.

In my view, a mother is someone who is and always will be responsible for your well being and correct information relative to your age. A wife is supposed to be your companion and best friend. Your confidante and recreational companion and personal business partner. Both are due respect the same as the other from the respective relationship.

A wife is expected to play the role of a mother too when the husband is sick, physically or mentally. ie. to nurture him, care him etc. But the mother can not take up all the roles of wife.

After your marriage your wife occupies the centre space of your life as your mother has already moved out farther from you
You are the receiver from both ends of love. One is thin ,dilute from your mother and the other is thick,concentrated from your wife.
Your mother and wife are alike in giving love and affection to you but there is lot of difference in the way they give it.
Your mother gives her love divided among her husband and children and you are one of them not in the centre stage.
Your wife gives her love divided among you and your children and you are the centre stage of her love.
This is all about true love. But all others are material related which are not really connected with love and happiness.

A wife is the relationship you have with your husband. Though you may care for him its a more mature, adult, intellectual, passionate relationship than the role of a mother. A mother is the relationship you have with your children. Its caring, protecting, nurturing as well as teaching.
