He was chosen as the 14th pick in the first round and he is basically the leader for the Mavs. Some may say its Dirk, but Josh has proved that he is reliable, even in the post season. Same with Ginobli, he was around the 20th pick in the 2nd round draft, there are rarely any good players in the 2nd round. Except Gilbert of course, are there any other players who were picked really late but prospered in the NBA?

Josh Howard was a steal and the way mavs have usually drafted and then squandered the drafted talent, we got lucky. I hear murmurs that Josh may be on the trading block if the right deal comes along. I think it will be extremely dumb to let him go, I'm still pissed about Kidd, Nash, Bell and Finley leaving.
Any way the leader still is Dirk, every thing still goes through dirk and he will always take the last shot. Josh is more consistant and hopfully he will grow in to a bigger offensive threat.

Go Mavs.

Josh Howard was the 29th Pick.

he was definetely a steal. then again, there were a lot of steals in that draft. Luke Ridnour, Sasha Pavlovic are a couple others that I would take over Chris Kaman.

Karl Malone was the 13/14th pick in the draft. John Stockton was 18/19. those are two hall of famers that teams slept on.

How about Ben Wallace .. who wasnt even drafted... Anyway... every team in the NBA was stupid for not taking Josh Howard .. he was the ACC player of the year... it wasnt like he was some unknown from Southwest Iowa State ...

By the way how is that Dirk trade working out for Milwaukee... they didnt even wanna bail Tractor Traylor outta jail...
