OMG-You sound like me! Could it be, that in this sea of bleeding hearts, there's another person who's sick and tired of the sick and twisted getting all the attention? What ever happened to decency, character, honor, trustworthiness, and strength? When we have a country that's more concerned with Bart Simpson than the presidential debates, somethings very wrong!! Do you realize that the news papers, tv news, etc. all have people working for them called "editors"? These editors jobs aren't to report to you the truth. They're to get people to buy, and watch!!! And then many people don't do that much! We have to begin to care about where our country (and communities) is headed, or the future looks pretty bleak. Someone asked a question on here earlier, and got the answer that it should just be every man for themselves, forget laws and politics. The sad thing is, it looks to me like, that's exactly where we're headed, so you better stock up on ammo, and brace for a civil war!!!! (Bush didn't sign the military commisions act of 2006 for nothing!) (He's NOT as dumb as everyone thinks!)

KJ - Second to Juliart, you're my hero.
Much of what is Politically Correct is a vie for Government Funding. If there is no crisis, there is no funding. This is why I think government dolling out of dollars needs to be cut back sizeably and let only those who really care about pet issue let their own pocket books speak rather than forcing everyone else's.
But like the two good posts above me expound, the media is driving 90% of this frenzy and ill-reporting.

its easier to control the masses when you tell them what to think how to act.people are afraid to think for themselves.because then they have to assume responsibility for themselves that and "o golly gee i told the truth and hurt some thin skinned sissy's feelings"dont go out in public and act a fool and i wont call you a f*****g fool,you f*****g fool.if people would worry more about what they need in life instead of what they want chances are it would be a little better place.
just think what it could be if parents actually raised their kids instead of the television if people bought things they truly needed not because some over paid over whiny celebrity said you needed it.

Republicans frequently are no longer for government controlled censorship. they are for persons or companies censoring themselves for basic decency and etiquette, yet any government censorship could desire to be heavily limited.
