if i have a saltwater tank and a freshwater tank, can i use one of my nets from the fresh tank for my salt tank? if i clean it with hot tap water? or do i need to buy a new one just for my salt tank?

and a glass side of the tank cleaner... you know the magnetic thing that cleans the sides of your tank? can i use the same one and just rinse with hott tap water? or do i need to buy a nother one just for saltwater?

We have 2 tanks too. We use the same net. So it is ok.

You might be able to use both, but realize if you use any copper-based medications in the freshwater tank, that saltwater invertebrates are sensitive to copper in their water.

Other than that, a good rinse in hot water (and you can combine this with air-drying by cleaning the tanks on different days) should be all you need to do. Most disease causing organisms and parasites can live in one or the other, but not both because of the difference in salinity.

I'd say okey with the net but just use regular water and remember no soap or chemical cleaners. But for the cleaner noit is going to be impossible to get out the salt from the fibers plus sticking your hand inside to move it from tank to tank defeats the purpose of the magnet besides there a lousy $4 suck it up I've spent over $1000 on my tanks.

i would say its fine to use both items in both tanks there shouldnt be a problem it would only be nery small salt deposits that enter your freshwater tank and it shouldnt affect the quality,
the only thing is you are increasing the risk of transferring disease from one tank to the other,

try rinsing the items in a watered down bleach solution this kills bacteria and after rinsing is harmless to the water quality,
