try things that are colorful, it will help attract him to the food. Such as bell peppers. For a full list of what igs can eat check out this site:
www.greenigsociety.org/foodchart
Please do not feed any animal protiens, such as crickets, mealworms or pinky mice. These animal protiens are very hard for your ig to digest and will cause damage to his little liver and kidneys.
Also, no iceburg, romain, or spinage. They are not all that nutrutious. The turnip greens you are feeding are good, try collard greens too.
Also try bananas, they are a great treat (not a main staple)
Anything with loads of color will attract his attention, your other option is to cut everything up so small, that he has no choice but to eat it. They can not pick it out if you cut it up small. And that way you know he is getting a varied diet and the nutrition he needs. You can also use a herbivore dust. It has calcium and other needed nutrients, this will be good as a supplement until he gets into the habit of eating all his veggies.
Good Luck!
I just read the other responses; please do not feed tomatoes, they are way to acidic and will upset his tummy. And remember igs are not omnivorous!!! they are herbivores, which means ONLY VEGGIES no meat, even in bug form.
And NO PEANUT BUTTER!!! Pretty much feed them things they find in the wild.... peanut butter does not grow in the jungle, thus it is bad. It has too many man made ingredients that are not good for your ig. Also, peanuts contain too much protien. An overload of this will damage his kidneys.
Check out that website. (www.greenigsociety.org) they have a full food chart and it explains what you can feed them, and what you cannot feed them, and why. It also tells you which nutrients he will get out of which veggies and fruits.

We give ours all kinds of stuff. Fruits, vegetables, and such. STAY away from SPINACH AND BROCCOLI, they are both DEADLY TO IGUANAS!!!!. We've had ours for years now and he's huge! They also love squash and bananas baby food on top of they're main food, like a dressing. Or solely if it's a baby iguana. Sliced apples, mangoes, tomatoes, use tomatoes sparingly though because of they're acid content, collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, radish tops, the radished thinly sliced or chopped, carrotts with the tops, the green part, they love that, they love carrots too, sliced thinly or chopped finely in a food processor. I could go on and on with what they like. You can email me too. Want to give it a special treat? They LOVE peanut butter bread, creamy peanut butter! Our iguana has a custom made enclosure and sits in my living room, equipped with the heat and uv lights. We have a big little box in there of water, he uses it as a little box too, then we dump it in the toilet. He has a seperate dish for his drinking water and he knows the difference. We just had him out a little while ago and he was roaming, he came out to see me and then went back. Ours' acts like a puppy almost, he's very friendly with us and even gets along with a small dog, a big golden retriever and a cat. Oh yeah, summer squash, sliced thin, he loves it. One of our's favorites though is watermelon, he just loves his watermelon!! Hope this helps.
Iceberg lettuse is a no-no too, only gives them water and no vitamins. Romaine is good as a treat. They also love grapes too.

I use to have one. Have you tried cactus, mine loved them. She liked hibiscus flowers too. She also liked iceberg lettuce, but that is not nutritious, it was only for a treat. Get a leash and take him out in the yard and let him graze making sure that you have not fertilized or there are no pesticides. Go to a pet store and find a book, that might give you some tips.
NEVER give meat to an Iguana!!!! They are vegetarians!!!!!
