La Reconquista was a period in Spain's history where the catholic spaniards fought wars to "liberate" their country from the muslim moors. it was completed in 1492 by King Ferdinand and queen Isabella ( the same guys who sponsored Columbus) when the kingdom of Granada fell to the catholic monarchs

First of all, it's spelled "reconquista." Do a google search; there's lot's of stuff online.
