The original cast and add Will Farrell. Farrell was the funniest cast member they ever had.

The original cast without a doubt was truly the best comedy team ever!!!!John Belushi, Jane Curtin, Garrett Morris, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner and Lorraine Newman. Steve Martin was a regular guest on there alot too. Oh that was the bomb!!!1975.

The cast from 1984-85...

Billy Crystal
Martin Short
Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Christopher Guest
Mary Gross
Harry Shearer
Rich Hall
Jim Belushi
...and a few others I'm forgetting.

Hilarious!

Phil Hartman will always be my all-time favorite cast member.

I admit that it was the second best line-up but the original cast will always be the best to me, simply because they were the original and made TV history.
Example: Chevy Chase saying to Jane Curtin
"Jane, you slut."
Example: Gilda Radner being Emily La Tella or Rose Rosanna Dana.
John Belushi being the Samara restaurant order man.
Then, The Blues Brothers, with Dan Akyroyd and John Belushi.

the original cast was so much more talented than any that have followed. When Phil Hartman was on the show it started being funny again.
