It depends where you bought the car? If bought at dealer ship or has a car max, lease return dealer. Extend warranty is good to have esp. If the trany. goes out ,engine blow's up. Something big? When buying the warranty read the fine print and know exactly what the warranty covers. How much is the deductable ? I had a 98 ford taurus the fuel pump went out. I had a extened warranty with a $50.00 deductable! the pump cost over $500.00. What can I say? It worked for me! saved $450.00

It is just insurance from mechanical break down and talk about wanting the cheep way out of expensive repair. Universal Underwriters are about the best. Be warned the whole idea of extended warranty is pay first and they hope you total your car. If your a mechanic like me and kind of short money each month a major repair bill with the normal home mortgage and gas electricity bill might cause credit cards not to be payed in full each month. I have extended coverage on my 2006 Pontiac GTO just in case the transmission fails or something major happens. One year three months 11,220 miles and not so much as a squeak or rattle.

No, because I was never dumb enough to get one.

Unless it came from the dealership certifing the car...those outside agencies will just take your money and run
