Not that I'm looking to buy one, but isn't it just odd that there are no (major) American companies manufacturing TVs? Same with computer monitors. The only American manufacturer I can think of is Viewsonic. Are there just no opportunities in this hemisphere or what?

I believe the trend started after WWII. It was part of the world bank's backing of industry in war ravaged countries. "Here, let them manufacture this to rebuild the economy. We can't just give them something for nothing!" I know that is how we began out sourcing a lot of goods previously manufactured here. Now it is just a matter of profit. *Was the television in existance then?*

I'd be happy if we made good television shows. But since we don't, there is not need to make TVs. Heck, even Japan doesn't make that many TVs anymore. It is called outsourcing. Thank the Republicans and the Democrats. Free trade shall make all our jobs disappear.
