A friend moved recently and gave me a huge box of tapes and dvds that I'm thinking of selling on ebay. A lot of them are rare old movies and tv shows never realeased on any format. He taped them from tv over the years. Would it be ok to sell these or are they considered bootlegs?

Anything that is copied one way or another qualifies itself as a bootleg copy. It needs to be an original copy of the movie or show.

Me I wouldn't mess with that all it takes is one person
to turn you in and you will get busted.

I bought Phantasm 2 on DVD on eBay then found out it was never released on DVD when I got my DVD it was copied
The person I bought it from got busted while mine was in the mail.

It is a huge fine
Enjoy the bit of VHS history your friend gave you or pass them to another friend.
